Supporting Companies & their Employees

Supporting Individuals & Companies
• Mental Wellbeing should be an essential focus.

We believe that our commitment to support companies & their employees will not only make a significant difference in the way that these said companies manages their businesses throughout this current economic crisis, but will also make a fundamental, permanent and sustainable changes to their work and social practices, by offering an enhanced training, as well as personal and lifestyle development portfolios to its employees.

In today’s current climate (amidst the wave of government cuts, increased government taxes, reduced bank lending and increased operating cost), we believe that companies are in grave danger of being effected, not by their changing commitment to deliver the best possible service, but by the effect of cuts on its ‘already under pressure’ workforce.

The need for employees to produce a greater level of efficiency, in a climate of industry cut back & increased work related’ pressures, whilst maintaining a happy balanced family environment, experiencing reduced financial/ physical family support services, increased stealth taxation/ cost of living expenses, and an erosion of social & community networking, appears to be nigh on impossible. This has inevitably created a catalyst of ‘industry damaging’ problems such as low staff morale, work related illnesses and sever reductions in company profitability.

The UK Health and Safety Executive has stated that 'Work-related' illness such as stress, depression and anxiety are the leading causes of working days lost, with an estimated 12.5 million days a year lost in 2003/4.' . It was also incorrectly concluded that these 'work related' illnesses are called such due to the fact that they are all created solely in the work place.

But the correct conclusion is that the place of work is often just the environment where it is commonly observed by a third party such as an employer or work colleague. In essence, it is often 'overlapping' home related problems that have become the major contributor to work related illness & performance.

Reducing and managing absenteeism, staff efficiency, staff morale & overall mental wellbeing is a mammoth task within any industry. It is seen as one of the best investments an employer can make, whilst simultaneously being one that is often a low priority despite profitability benefits and the possible risks & effects on health & safety, attendance and relationships with colleagues.

Mental Wellbeing should be an essential focus, in which the individual is able to develop their full potential, work productively, creatively build strong & positive relationships with their others, and contribute to their own and their organisations growth.  It is enhanced when an individual is able to fulfil their personal and social goals, whilst simultaneously achieving a sense of purpose in society.

It is therefore vital that the Wellbeing of the workforce is managed in such a way that business, personal and social goals are given a more balanced weighting.   IOW’s Wellbeing Programs are a major way of empowering, motivating and engendering loyalty and a sense of purpose amongst employees.

We know a ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t work. That is why we have developed a range of affordable programs designed to tackle a simultaneous development of an employees work & home life.
