It’s 2011 and although things have evolved a great deal in terms of gender equality, the debate rages on concerning what jobs women can and can’t do well. The recent female linesman debate reached fever pitch this week. View the article on the MailOnline on Wednesday.

55 year old Sky Sports Presenter Andy Gray was sacked yesterday amid further evidence of sexist behavior. He was suspended after he made comments about 25 year old lines-woman Sian Massey on Saturday, but then an 11 second video footage of Gray was leaked onto YouTube where he asked Sky Sports News host Charlotte Jackson, 33, to tuck his microphone pack down his trousers. 'Charlotte, can you tuck this in here for me love? Just tuck that in for me love.' He states.

Touchline Reporter Andy Burton was also suspended for stating that Massey was 'a bit of a looker'.

Gray was earning more that £1million per year, and Sky stated that 'The decision, which is effective immediately, was made in response to new evidence of unacceptable and offensive behavior.'

What are your views on societies gender issues? Do you believe this type of no nonsense disciplinary action will benefit gender equality, or make people feel apprehensive about forming natural relationships with the opposite sex in the workplace? With the Western World now keen to be politically correct, respectful and project equality amongst gender groups, do we need to go back to the drawing board and reassess all our attitudes? Some women still think women have no place on a male football pitch. What are your views?
