Haiti

Seeing the heart wrenching and tragic images of the Haitians since the shattering earthquake, it has brought major organisations, governments and even celebrities together to raise awareness and to make donations.
Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere. Over 70% of Haitians live on $1 per day. Since the devastation, it has left 1.5 million homeless. Children and families who have survived are in dire need of shelter and support.
The World’s Favourite Game…

As I sat at a cold White Hart Lane this weekend, watching my beloved team Spurs play out a dismal 0-0 draw with Hull City, I started to wonder why? Why was I voluntarily giving up both my precious time and valuable money to watch this? I’m sure it’s a question that has been pondered by many a football fan over the years, particularly when things don’t seem to be going well!
New Baby Part 1

Whether you are the natural father, a separated father or step dad, most if not all fathers will experience the same amount of time with their children as they grow older due to work or custody. As such, any time with your children should be spent wisely, don’t burden them with your problems as at their age, they are the centre of the universe, but at the same time you must not spoil them as this will lead to a lack of discipline as they grow older, making your life as their father much harder.
Not forgetting…the Elderly

So the deep freeze has hit us all in some shape or form, but what about the most vulnerable – the elderly. With the tragic news of the elderly couple that were found dead in their home, how about spreading some kindness by visiting your elderly neighbour or an elderly family member and see if they are alright and if they need help with anything?
Winter Blues

After abandoning my car to avoid being stuck in horrendous traffic during another snow spell, I walked home (luckily it was only 10 minutes away.) As I made my way, I walked past a line of cars who had come to a standstill. Then turning into another road, I heard the spinning of wheels, saw buses stranded and car sliding. I knew I had made the right decision to leave my car and walk. I called my mum who lives up the road to see if she was ok, as she got stranded a few weeks ago. When she answered, she said she was depressed being stuck indoors. You see my mum is very much so an outdoors person. I asked her to come to my house and have a cuppa tea and so she did. The sight of my five-month-old kitten running around jumping on the furniture was enough to keep her laughing and entertained.
